Dr. Nicole Clark
- DPT Faculty Member
- University of Saint Mary
Scott Healy & Associates is pleased to announce that Dr. Nicole Clark will be joining the DPT Faculty team at the University of Saint Mary. Dr. Nicole Clark earned her Bachelor of Science in 2002 from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Springfield College in 2003. After graduating, Nicole knew she wanted to pursue a career in education and research, so she started working toward her PhD in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She recently completed her PhD, and focused her research in the neurophysiological effects of dry needling.
Nicole has extensive clinical experience in the outpatient orthopedic setting, and has attended continuing education that has focused on manual therapy treatment of spine and extremity dysfunction. Her first experiences as an educator occurred outside the classroom. She created opportunities to educate the public and her colleagues on various topics, including but not limited to running injury prevention and screening, self myofascial release techniques, dry needling in physical therapy practice, extremity manipulation and proper examination techniques for the knee.
She started working in the classroom as adjunct faculty at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, in their problem-based learning curriculum. She has been invited as a guest lecturer at Marymount for topics such as writing research questions and proper study design. Dr. Clark is excited to transition into full-time academia so that she can share her passion for physical therapy and research with future members of the profession.
