Boston University College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College, in partnership with the national search firm, Scott Healy & Associates, invites applications and nominations for the Tenured Associate/Full Professor and Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy. This is a full-time, tenured position with a 9-month appointment plus summer over-base pay. Academic year requirements include teaching, research, and service. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and level of experience.
Provides leadership to faculty, administrative staff, and students within the program; facilitates communication, clarification and implementation of university and department policies and procedures; provides leadership through planning, implementation and evaluation of the Occupational Therapy Program and through support of the program, department, and institution’s mission.
- Earned doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) with a funded research program in or relevant to occupational therapy;
- Experience teaching at the graduate level, preferably including entry-level professional students;
- Experience mentoring others in the development of their programs of research and scholarship;
- A record of professional engagement;
- Clinical background as an occupational therapist strongly preferred;
- Demonstration of a strong research background and a successful record of external support for research.
