Position Description

Endicott College, in partnership with the national search firm, Scott Healy & Associates, invites applications and nominations for the position of Director of the Physician Assistant Program. The Director of the Physician Assistant Program will be responsible for developing the curriculum for the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and ensuring the initial accreditation of the program through the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA). The Director will be responsible for developing clinical sites and adding faculty and staff to the program, as well as coordinate program assessment and maintain accreditation. The Director will work with Admission and Marketing and Communication to recruit students to the program. The position reports to the Dean of the Cummings School of Nursing & Health Sciences, and works closely with other school deans in related fields. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Be knowledgeable about and responsible for program organization, program administration, fiscal management of the program, continuous programmatic review and analysis, program planning, program development, securing clinical sites, completion of ARC-PA required documents, and adherence to the Standards and ARC-PA policies.
  • Work with the principal faculty in actively participating in the processes of developing, reviewing, and revising as necessary the mission statement, goals and competencies of the program, selecting applicants for admission to the PA program, providing student instruction, evaluating student performance, academic counseling of students, assuring the availability of remedial instruction, designing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the curriculum, and evaluating the program.
  • Provide effective leadership by exhibiting responsiveness to issues related to personnel, strong communication skills, and proactive problem solving.
  • Supervise the medical director, principal and instructional faculty and staff in activities that directly relate to the PA program.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Physician Assistant holding current or emeritus certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Must have a minimum of three years of full-time higher education experience at the time of appointment.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and developing cultural competencies among graduate students with a lens toward social justice education.
  • Must have experience with accreditation.
