Position Description

Viterbo University, in partnership with the national search firm Scott Healy & Associates, is pleased to announce the search for a Founding Program Director and Associate/Full Professor of the Speech-Language Pathology Program. This is a 12-month, tenure-track faculty position. The founding director will be actively involved in the development of a communication disorders undergraduate major and a Master of Science in speech-language pathology including curriculum design, faculty recruitment and development, teaching, scholarship, accreditation with the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology & Speech Language Pathology (CAA) and approval with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (WI-DPI). The director will cultivate partnerships with speech-language pathologists and community-based organizations for clinical placements in the La Crosse, WI area. This position reports to the Dean of the College of Nursing and Health.


The successful candidate will have an EdD or a PhD in Speech-Language Pathology, Speech and Hearing Sciences, Communication Science Disorders or related field, eligibility for Wisconsin Licensure, post-secondary teaching experience and demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience.  In addition, the preferred candidate will have outstanding organizational skills, technology literacy, communication, time management and self-motivation.
