John Wolff founded John Wolff Associates, LLC, in 2007 following eight years as senior consultant with the nationally known fundraising consulting firm of Marts & Lundy, Inc. Through JWA, John offers a wide variety of specially tailored fundraising consulting services including internal advancement assessments, feasibility studies, capital campaign planning and management, and advancement planning counsel. JWA offers clients not only deep experience in the field but also the flexibility to adapt sound fundraising principles to specific challenges and opportunities.
In his 25-plus years in the development arena, John has held vice presidential positions at two colleges and has led successful capital campaigns for endowment, brick and mortar, and general operating funds. He has had extensive experience in all aspects of institutional advancement and staff development. He has also worked closely with the boards of colleges, universities, and other not-for-profits. His past development experience also includes successful fundraising at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
As a senior consultant with Marts & Lundy, John served a number of private and public colleges and universities, helping them to create strong cultures of philanthropy to advance and strengthen advancement efforts. For several clients, John’s consulting began with an advancement audit, followed by a feasibility study, leading to a successful campaign. For those institutions not engaged in campaigns, John’s advice and counsel led to increased fundraising performance through the application of custom tailored development programs and applications.
