William Nunn has expertise in theories and practices
of enrollment management, retention, research and data analysis,
utility of technology, strategic planning, team-building, budgets,
financial leveraging, scholarships, scheduling, registration,
with specialty in recruitment, direct marketing and freshman
and transfer and admissions, processes, and procedures.
He has over thirty years of progressive enrollment
management experience in higher education at a selective, private
institution; Division I, state-related institution; a state-owned
university; and a community college. His career experience includes
admissions and enrollment positions at The University of Pittsburgh,
The University of Akron, Indiana University of Pennsylvania,
Duquesne University and the Community College of Allegheny County.
Over the years, William has personally orchestrated
enrolling tens of thousands of students; developed hundreds
of market plans; coordinated multiple collaborative, recruitment
efforts with alumni and faculty; developed numerous enrollment
policies, practices and procedures; developed one of the first
transfer articulation programs, scholarship and electronic transfer
processes in the nation; developed a model for the recruitment
of disadvantaged students; conducted a host of institutes, seminars
and workshops; received recognition for the development of promotional
materials and marketing efforts; and appeared on a number of
television panels as an enrollment expert.
On the state level, he has served as president
of the state Association of College Admissions Counselors and
assemblies for enrollment practices on the national level. He
has served on faculty at the Summer Institute at Bucknell University
and taught high school and university college personnel and
administrators on issues related to the college enrollments,
recruitment and the selection processes. He has lobbied in Washington,
D.C. for federal aid to higher education, served on Bill Gates
first, Millennium Scholarship Committee (served three years).
William currently serves as President of the Board of Directors
for the Allegheny Academy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has
been a mentor to many professionals currently employed in areas
of higher education.
