Ken Davenport recently completed a very successful
32 year career in higher education. He was Director of Admissions
at Wright State University for 26 years and served as Interim
Director of Admissions at The University of South Florida in
1998 - 1999. Prior to his career in admissions, he was on the
Dean of Student staff at the University of Dayton and Wright
State. His areas of specialty include student recruitment, marketing,
publications, enrollment management, international admissions
and new student orientation.
Ken brings a broad range of experience, talent, and expertise
in recruiting students at "Metropolitan Universities" where
the commuter student is the norm. He was very successful in
maintaining new student enrollments at Wright State during a
time of significant decrease in the number of high school graduates
from Ohio.
Ken has been active throughout his career in NACAC, OACAC, the
Ohio ACT Assembly, and has served as Chair for two terms for
the Council of Admissions Officers of the State Assisted Universities
in Ohio. Primarily based in the mid-west, Ken has been an admissions
presenter at conferences in the areas of student recruitment.
He has been active in many community organizations and served
over 15 years on the Executive Committee of the Dayton/Montgomery
County Scholarship Committee. Uniquely talented in the regional
university setting, Ken brings an expertise to universities
that are recruiting commuting students as their primary new
student market.
