Don has served as Director of Transfer Admission at Clarkson University, Keuka College and most recently at Wells College. He served as Director of Admissions at SUNY Utica-Rome and as Director of Articulation at the Graduate College of Union University. He started his career in admissions at Roberts Wesleyan College.
Don is a founding member, past secretary, board member and president of the New York State Transfer Association (NYSTAA). He has been a committee member and board member of the Northeast Association of Two-Year Colleges. A member of AACRAO he served as chair of the Transfer Committee and as a member of the Small College and Community College committees and later served as a member of the AACRAO National Transfer Task Force. He has been a member of MSAACRAO, NACAC, NYACAC, TYESA, EEA, NETA, OTA, NAGAP and Phi Theta Kappa. He has been a frequent presenter at these associations, and others, speaking about transfer and articulation, non-traditional student recruitment, small college recruitment, niche college recruitment, transfer recruitment, recruiting honor society members, private college affordability, creation of a state transfer organization, recruiting D-3 and NAIA athletes, and other admissions issues.
Don has increased enrollment in the areas of his responsibility at all the colleges where he has worked. He has been instrumental in recruiting more honors and non-traditional students to his campuses. He is a vocal advocate for transfer and non-traditional student recruitment to the private college.
